The  7 day trip will cover several locations  in Mexico City and Near by locations featured in the Movie "Frida” produced by Salma Hayek;  the week long trip includes:

 

1.-Guided tour to Teotihuacan Pyramids named “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO.

 

2.-Walking stroll thru Magical Coyoacan; plaza, library, historical homes including “La Casa Azul ”Where Frida and Diego resided.

 

.3.- Visits to “San Idelfonso” and Zocalo Museums, Dinner in Pujol restaurant

 

4.- Visit Xochimilco in a Chinampa tour of the canals while listening to  Mariachi Music . Meet Frida , Dolores Olmedo Museum

THE  WORKSHOP IS CREATED BY    DESIGNERS FOR DESIGNERS.

 

  • The all inclusive practical workshops

  • We'll have a guided tour thru Oaxaca's Valleys and work with various artists of the region to learn pre-hispanic techniques; the native artists of the region and a product development teacher will be there to aid you thru the process if needed.

  • This trip will show you how to work with natural dyes.

  • You will learn the iconography of pre-hispanic designs

  • We will cover various techniques from embroidery, machined,  knitted, woven work. and painting styles and their origin.

  • We will visit the traditional markets and take scenic  routes.

  • Of course we have design time for a little R&R on the weekends.

  • You will live like a local for 1 -4 weeks base on the program you select.

I.The 10 day trip is so culturally rich that it is perfect for photographers  looking to create epic images during one of the biggest celebrations in the Mexican Culture.

 

In Mexico we believe that our loved ones come back to visit on DIA DE MUETROS and its a call for celebrating and offerings of their favorite food and drinks turning the grave yards into a party in itself; people bring flowers, food and drink offerings including music.

  • We will visit architectural sites in a guided tour around the Historical District.

  • We will visit the sites in preparation for day of the dead evening when the people visit the grave yard to celebrate with the dead.

  • You will take part on a local parade with a local band playing traditional music.

  • We will visit textile artist workshops.

  • We will visit a Mezcal factory

  • We will visit archaeological sites

  • We will visit folk art workshops.

  • We will vistit the Mecados with pre-hispanic traditions.
